Caleb is the 2021 winner of the 3rd Annual Skeyez N' Starz Showcase. He is an Artist, Musician, and Performer who uses his lifestyle and experiences as inspiration for his work, His musical style blends soul, hip hop, and poetry that creates a vibe that is unmatched.
Meet the Starz
Affectionately known as “the singing teacher,” Shawn Sounds is a powerhouse singer- songwriter from Houston, Texas. He’s been featured across social media for the soul-capturing covers and melodies he sings to help motivate students in his classroom. Shawn also captured America’s heart as a “Top 8” finalist on Season 16 of NBC’s “The Voice”, and landed the #2 spot on iTunes’ Top R&B songs for his rendition of the Luther Vandross classic, “A House Is Not A Home.” Shawn has sang alongside chart toping artists like John Legend (Bigger Love Tour, 2020), Chrisette Michelle, and Carl Thomas. He’s toured with famed jazzman, Jarrod Lawson, with R&B crooners, H-Town, and as one-third of the soul group, Six Minutes ‘til Sunrise. His future musical endeavors include but aren’t limited to releasing a full-length album, which will accompany music that he’s already released. LaNisha "NiNi" Patterson
3rd Place Poet
Milwaukee, WI born LaNisha Patterson is an up and coming actress, poet, writer, and songstress. Her love of spoken word started at the age of 10, and she continues to write when she is inspired. Nini is co-founder and CEO of a black owned entertainment and film production company here in Houston, Throw'd Off Entertainment, LLC. She has starred in several plays, short skits, and local films. Besides her work in the arts LaNisha is currently a Cell Biology Ph.D. candidate at the University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston, TX. She aspires to be a medical researcher in the field of diabetes and cancer. She is also the founder of her women’s empowerment movement, Crown on Queen, with the mission of positively influencing the lives of women and young ladies around the world.
Billyonare Billygoat is an independent artist from Killeen TX by way of Milwaukee WI. His background coupled with his poetic influence allows his lyrical content to appeal to diverse audiences. As the only male in his household be sought refuge in the streets of Milwaukee. After getting involved with the "wrong crowd he ended up serving time in prison for a crime he did not commit. He used that time to cultivate his creative arts by writing and eventually filled a binder filled with over 600 songs pertaining to his life experiences and lessons that he learned. He won 2nd place in the 2020 Skeyez N' Starz Showcase with his highly energetic performance of his song "In the Struggle" Now he is the C.E.O Of his own label Music Equals Power (M.E.P.). His pursuits in music are aimed at holding the title of the next Best Artist Alive hence the name Billygoat.

A good silver lining in a world full of badness, Caleb Da Great attempts to show people the positive in life while representing the reality. This Missouri City native was born from Dominican Parents honing a style that is separate from the rest. His merge of consciousness and realism with Hip Hop and Soul fusion, Caleb Da Great will audiences a good time and gives their ears something sweet to digest.
Hailing from Jacksonville by way of Beaumont, Aja Crooks is well known in the Houston acting community. Her comedic timing, improv skills, and stage presence are what makes her stand out among others. She had been apart of ensemble casts in Houston and Atlanta and when she isn't bringing the content of others to life she is creating her own. Her goal is to star in her own sitcom one day. Until then, her content can be found on her social media and YouTube channel.

Born and raised in Houston, TX, inspiring singer, actor, songwriter, producer and CEO of Small Square Productions, Otis Sherod Williams is spreading light to the world one song, one act and one soul at a time. Acting has allowed him to display his art with multiple productions across the United States in stage plays titled Endurance, Broken, and The Millicent Story, just to name a few. Williams has carried the name Otis Sherod far beyond the stage of acting. He also performs live and studio records his music. He has published his debut album ‘One Man Band’ under Small Square Productions; which is available for download. He is making moves to create a new era with old school values that meshes love and staying true to the realness of life. “Embrace who you are, even your flaws; that’s what makes you beautiful”. –OS

Poet and Mental Health Advocate
Kiara McFee aka Keyah Soul The Poetic Locksmith is a North Houston native who has become a public figure. She is 1/4 of the poetry group Loc'd in Poetry who use poetry to challenge the stigmas of social and personal issues and breaking restrictive boundaries.As an advocate for Mental Health Awareness she uses her gift of artistic expression through poetry, singing, and acting to tell stories that lead and uplift others. Her motivation to advocate for Mental Health Awareness came from her personal experiences. In overcoming her obstacles she realized the importance of bringing awareness to how mental illness affects one's quality of life. Keyah's life purpose is to serve and help others by using her gifts to spread joy and be a catalyst for positive change in her every growing community.
